What's the process like?

Counselling works by offering a safe therapeutic relationship within which you will experience acceptance, honesty and kindness.

We will tailor our therapeutic approaches to your needs as we support you to process past and present issues, and will help you move forward so that you can live life free from the things that are holding you back.

How long does it take?

Effective counselling takes time since it involves exploring thoughts patterns and behaviours. There is flexibility with the number of sessions you engage in, and this would be discussed and reviewed between you and your counselor within the counselling process. Every client’s story and journey is different and so the length of time you attend counselling will take into account your particular needs and circumstances.

How much does it cost?

The cost is £30 per session. We seek to make our counselling as accessible as we can. Our counsellors volunteer their time and our pricing simply reflects our costs.

Is your service open to individuals of all beliefs and faiths?

Yes, absolutely! Anyone is welcome to access our service.

Our counselling offices are based within The Point, which is a community hub run by Queens Park Baptist Church. Its purpose is to be used for the benefit of the local community e.g. as a venue hire for training courses, toddler groups, ESOL cafe etc. Life&Soul Counselling is part of this Hub, and like the other services offered here, welcomes individuals of all faiths and none.

The counselling process itself does not include reference to faith of any type, unless of course it’s something you bring up yourself and want to talk about. Our sessions are always client-led, which means that we help our clients explore whatever subjects they choose to bring to each session. As with any professional counselling service, personal opinions or beliefs of the counsellors are not brought into the sessions. It’s all about you!
