The way of Jesus inexorably leads to the cross. The crucifixion of Jesus is the centre-point of each and every gospel, pulling the whole story towards its inescapable fulfilment at Calvary. In this next week, our journey through 2025 will lead us to Easter and the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection. Whilst Christmas is the great public celebration of Christmas, Easter takes us to the heart of why Jesus came into our world.

Jesus said: And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:32

The death of Jesus continues to make its appeal. You may have picked up the recent report from the Bible Society: “The Quiet Revival”. This research confirms the anecdotal news from south of the border that young adults (Gen Z) are coming to faith, leading to a rise in church attendance in England.

I have recently spoken with a number of people for whom internet searches and YouTube videos have been part of their journey of exploration and have even led to faith. God is already present and working in his harvest field, speaking to curious hearts and hungry souls. He invites us to join him in his harvest, and what better time than Easter? Why not check out our Easter services and invite folks along? For those of us on social media, please see the publicity materials on the QPBC Facebook or Instagram pages. Invitation cards are available for you to use too – please take as many as you can give away!

Look out, also for “321”, the course designed for people searching for Jesus. It is geared to be used completely online, so you can recommend it to your digital-native friends. However, we will also be running it in person in May. Think about who you might invite. Watch this space! (For more details https://speaklife.org.uk/ ).

And please remember to book in for breakfast on Easter Sunday and the café on Good Friday.
