“Sometimes, particularly in our culture, we think that our family is only the people that live in our house or at most the people we are related to. But being part of the church means that we are part of a big family.”

These are words Nanette shared with us on Sunday morning in Camphill, and as Brodie reminded us a few weeks ago, the church we are part of is not just those who gather in Camphill or connect with QP online but instead is something so much bigger. In fact, this church, this family is worldwide. This coming week we are joined by a guest who is part of our wider Baptist church family here in Scotland.

Lisa Holmes is part of the National Team for the Baptist Union of Scotland and as we look forward to welcoming her at Camphill this Sunday and on QPonline next Sunday, we thought we would let her introduce herself to you all…

“I’m Lisa and in September I began a new role with the Baptist Union of Scotland as their Deeper Church Lead focusing on areas around prayer and spiritual formation and covering some aspects of pastoral care for ministers and leadership training.

Previously, I have been a Baptist Minister at Skipton Baptist Church in North Yorkshire (8 years as Senior Minister). I am also on the Leadership team for Spring Harvest and part of the Evangelical Alliance Council. I am married to Mike, and we have 2 children (20 & 18) and a whippet. I love music and play flute and saxophone and also enjoy anything that’s outdoors!”
